Talk about a turn of events 😮💨Just like that Cisco certs value went ⬆️ in cybersecurity and networking. Cisco needed Splunks tech stack to migrate fully to a software flexible company and their Cisco physical networking in the ground gives them an opportunity to do things with security defending that most security companies just don’t have the physical network layer to do so.#technews #cybersecurity #cloudsecurity

First, New Relic, and now Splunk. While these companies are most often associated with cybersecurity use-cases, it's also important to note that observability platforms can help us capture signals that train intelligent systems. i.e., Their #AIOps potential is significant for next-best action / recommender systems.

Some big news with the Cyber Security space today, Cisco have agreed to buy Splunk for $28 Billion, that's $157 per share (if you hold any of them) this is Cisco largest acquisition and join a number of security purchases they have made in the last couple of years, as Cisco continues it moves to become a key player in the cybersecurity space, I can see more purchase for them on the horizon as well.

Interesting read with your morning coffee ☕️ Even with all the talk about artificial intelligence, cyber security is by far the most compelling need. The thought of bad actors compromising AI driven business applications is scary. In 2023, Cisco has acquired four companies focused on security: Armorblox, a threat detection platform; Oort, which does identity management; and Valtix and Lightspin, both in cloud security.Cisco is clearly taking a leadership position and responsibility in cyber security. Cisco's $28 billion acquisition of Splunk - their largest deal ever - caught my eye. This will allow Cisco to significantly expand its cybersecurity portfolio by bringing Splunk's security analytics and monitoring capabilities in-house. While there may be antitrust concerns given the overlap in security products, this deal positions Cisco as an even more dominant enterprise security player. It will be interesting to see how they integrate Splunk into their stack.A mega acquisition that could really shake up the cybersecurity competitive landscape. Curious to hear thoughts on what this means for Cisco's security strategy moving forward.#cybersecurity #privacy

Cisco makes largest ever acquisition, buying cybersecurity company Splunk for $28 billion in cash. This acquisition underscores the important role of data in cybersecurity and network intelligence. Traditionally, security technologies functioned through preset configurations and rules, leading to security fragmentation. With the convergence of tools, data and analytics now play a central role, allowing platforms like Splunk to act as the intelligence hub, utilizing data from various security controls and directing their actions. This integration complements Cisco's existing data repositories, creating a more comprehensive security approach. Kudos to Cisco for a visionary move forward!#CyberSecurity #DataIntelligence #CiscoSplunkMerger #networkanalytics

This is definitely a surprising and exciting news . This M& A surely can change the market dynamics in Cyber Security Space in recent future, provided the cutting edge Technology is leveraged properly. Large legacy Organizations and smaller new age organisations integrations post M&A has never been easy due to difference of work culture, mentality and variations in agility. In recent times ,probably the greatest example of a traditional Technology provider in cybersecurity which successfully transformed it's portfolio with inorganic growth / M&As is none other than Palo Alto Networks .Splunk is a beautiful multidimensional product and hope Cisco does justice to this fantastic brand . Cisco in past did many fantastic acquisitions but many of them lost their original flavour post acquisition. But a successful integration will also script the turnaround of Cisco's cybersecurity offering helping to keep up the pace with the changing Cyber security & Infrastructure ecosystem.https://lnkd.in/g4ZExdfg#splunk #cybersecurity #cisco #cyberresilience #SOC #cyberworld
